Every time I wear a watch it breaks on me! Help?

I have had this lifelong problem.......with watches!! I can't wear one for more then 2 weeks and it dies. I've tried buying pricey ones, they would still die. Someone even gave me a very expensive watch last Christmas with a rubber band lined for the part that goes around your wrist-the strap. The head of it went dead soon! What's wrong with me?My folks accuse me of not looking after them or something, they don't seem to believe me. I take very good care of them, but they just die so I've stopped buying them. Does anyone know what's going on? Have you heard of something like this happen before? thanks

By breaking, I imagine you mean that it just stops working, not that it falls apart or that the straps break.

If so, maybe the watches you buy have old or defective batteries, if they've been sitting on the shelf a long time. Or if you talk with your hands you might jar it against something and knock a wheel out of alignment.

Whatever the case, just do what I do -- wear a sundial wristwatch...no battery and no moving parts. Hmmm...but for some reason, it seems to stop working at night.

There are many types of leather strap. And cow leather strap is the common one in the competitive market. Therefore, never wear a watch with leather straps to go swimming,neither do anything wit prolonged exposure to water. If soaked in sweat chronically, leather strap will turn moldy with bad smell. As a result, it is not suitable for those who tend to weat easily to wear watch with leather straps. Webbing Strap Watches

Let s Have Fun of Watch DIY

Everything needs a change from time to time even if just for freshness.Just pick my home furniture as an example, beds and tables in my house will be exchanged every 7 or 8 years.

Low-end watches have a good point here,that is you can transform it as you like. In my opinion, the most easiest way to DIY watch is to change the way to wear watches. Nothing is impossible. There is no a saying that watch can not be worn without  watch bands. You can sew it into a bag , use it as pendent of necklace …….

Recently, I have a DIY on my watch-sew a quartz watch into a wirstband(as you can see in the picture below).Wristband can be viewed as sport or outdoor leisure goods and be worn in sports generally. It is elastic,making it able to  stick to the wrist.Also, it is quite sweat-absorbent.Hence,I enjoy wearing it going for an outing at weekend.

This DIY process goes as follow: first use a scissors to cut off the two straps ,only leaving a appropriate length.Then make sewing holes with an awl.Third sew the watch to the wristband with solid fine line. However, make sure you sew it on the center which will entitle the watch a balanced sense visually.The picture below shows the instrument I used at the DIY process.

Creativity without limits. DIY is fun and easy. Just take a little time and simple action ,you can have such DIY fun in your daily life as well.
