how do i fix the mechanical disc brakes on my bike? they are very loose and i dont know how to tighten them.?

the bike is only 6 months old so i dont want to get rid of it quite yet, it cost me over £200
i have fixed the issue, thank you everyone for your suggestions.
you have several options (i hope) but generally there is a couple ways to do this . One by bringing up slack in the cable housing by turning the cable tension clockwise on or near the brake handle. Second, there might be a pad adjustment on the inside of the brake calliper that would require a 4 or 5mm hex wrench to adjust clockwise to bring the pad closer to the rotor and third, adjust the cable on the calliper up a little bit thereby bringing the outside brake pad closer to the rotor. This is not a hard fix but since you have a very low end "full suspension" bike here there is no telling what kind of brakes you have and you may be limited in the amount of adjustment that you can make on them. My suggestion on this would be to take it to a shop and let them do it for you or just google disc brake adjustments and you will get all kinds of video.
PS: Get rid of this "toy" as soon as you can, it will cost you more in maintenance than you paid for it in the very near future!
